20th Century Club Presents Rebecca Laine King

Rebecca Laine King is the daughter of Dr. Lewis and Karen King and her brother is Hunter King. Her grandparents are Rod and Rebecca Jorjoran and the late Roy and Paula King.

She currently attends Trinity School of Texas where she is a senior. She is active in the Student Council, National Honor Society, Longview Partnership's Leadership Tomorrow, Z-Club, ACTS, Key Club, Junior Statesmen of America, Multi-Cultural Club, volleyball, tennis, bowling team and Rotary Four-Way Speech Contest. Her favorite subjects are AP Calculus BC and Statistics, AP Biology and Independent Photography. She also plans to attend college and major in Business with the desire to own her own business in the future.

When asked her philosophy in life she replied, "Whatever may happen to us throughout life, our reactions are what affect the rest of our decsions. If we react poorly to something, we set a poor example for future generations. Life is too short to let the little things get to us, so we need to forgive and forget; by doing this we are able to live a better and healthier lifestyle."

 

 

Gilmer Lions Club Presents Stephanie Lynn Henson

Stephanie is the daughter of Mr. Stephen and Terry Henson. Her siblings are Wesley and Connor Henson and her grandparents are Larry and Bebe Henson and Sharon Pilcher of Gilmer.

She is a senior attending Harmony High School where she is active in tennis, Beta Club, honor roll, FCCLA, FCA, FFA, Horse Judging Team, Dairy Heifer exhibitor and FFA Officer. She also enjoys being active, being outdoors, playing sports and spendng time with family and friends. She plans to further her education by attending SMU and majoring in Business Administration.

She lives each day through God as He gives her strength. She also believes that everything happens for a reason and that a person can achieve any dream with God, family and good friends.

When asked if she could travel anywhere in the world she said, "Going to Australia would be a dream come true." The person she would like most to meet is George Strait because ,"He is such an amazing singer."

 

 

Gilmer Rotary Club Presents Jaclyn Paige Skinner

Miss Jaclyn Paige Skinner is the daughter of David Skinner and Allanah Hawkins. She has a brother, Parker Hawkins and a sister Hope Hawkins. Her grandparents are Wayne (Past President) and Becky Skinner, Jerry and Donna Parker and Ralph and Sandy DeGeurin. Her Great Grandmother is Marvel Rushfedt.

She is a senior at Harmony High School where she enjoys One Act Play, Key Club, Debate, FFA, LDE and CDE team. When not working at her job as a waitress at the Fore Seasons, Holly Lake Ranch and at school she enjoys visiting with family and going for long outside walks.

Her life philosophy when asked was quoted from Jeremiah 29:11 " For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD," plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Remember our creator and His plan for us each step of the day and if this is fully achieved we will truly be successful.

Jaclyn is undecided as to her career or college plans, however her plans definitely include higher education and a career she can enjoy while allowing her to have a family and contribute in a positive way.

 

 

Beta Sigma Phi Presents Eryn Nicole Mannis

Eryn is the daughter of Perry and Karen (Lady-in Waiting 1982) Mannis and is a senior at Gilmer High School. Her sister is Katie who was the East Texas Yamboree Queen for 2005. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Quay Pitman of Gilmer, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Herald of Conway, Arkansas and Mrs. Carolyn Mannis of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

While attending Gilmer High School some of her activities are varsity golf and softball, National Society of High School Scholars, Key Club, FFA Leadership and Career Development Teams and honor roll. Her other activities include; St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Youth, ten year piano student, and five year Yamboree Pageant court dancer. In 1998 she was involved in the Yamboree Pageant's children court and she served in 2005 as the Yamboree Royal Princess to her sister, Queen Katie Elizabeth Mannis.

Eryn's life philosphy is that there are going to be things in life that get us down and test us, but if you work to overcome obstacles with a good attitude, God and your family as a foundation, anything is possible.Support and integrity will get you through any trials and tribulations.

Eryn enjoys hanging out with friends, shopping with her mother and sister, golfing with her dad and spending summer weekend afternoons at her granmom's pool with her family.

Her future ambition is to attend Blinn College and Texas A&M University, purusing a degree in Sports Medicine.

 

 

Bluebonnet Club Presents Laren Elizabeth Clemens

Laren is the daughter of Jeff and Lanette Clemens and her brother is named Jared. Her grandparents are Dorothy Clemens of Coyle , Texas and the late Newton Coyle of Gilmer, Texas, and LaJuana Williams of Texarkana, Texas.

Her ambition is to attend Texas Christian University to become a neonatal registered nurse. She would also like to marry and have a family. She is a member of the tennis team, Fellowship of Christian Atheletes, National Honor Society, Key Club, FFA, Student Council officer and member of the Gilmer Church of Christ youth group. She enjoys playing tennis, shopping and hanging out with friends in her leisure time. She also enjoys mexican food and country music.

When asked what her life philosphy she quoted Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight." "If you have faith in God, He will lead you in the right direction.", she added.

 

 

 

Gilmer Kiwanis Club Presents Rayven Elizabeth Osborne

Rayven is the daughter of Lula Johnson and James Osborne. Her brothers are Landon Osborne and Manna Johnson II. Her grandparents are Helen Johnson and the late Manna Q. Osborne.

Rayven is a senior at Gilmer High School and her activities include Key Club, Steppin' Up, Track Regional Qualifier, Basketball Academic All District. 1st Team All District and East Texas Honorable mention in volleyball. Her other activities are Mt. Zion Baptist Youth Choir and Youth Mission officer. In her leisure time she enjoys playing basketball, reading and hanging out with friends.

She plans to attend the University of Texas and major in Psychology. She wants to travel and become an excellent psychiatrist in order to help others. She most admires Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. because of his ability to identify a wrong and have the courage and persistance to change it and ultimately give the greatest sacrifice, his life.

"For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted" Luke 14:11 was the scripture she quoted when asked her philosophy. She would have others see what she does, approve and tell others.
